Rubella TestGerman Measles (Rubella) Test ResultsA rubella blood test detects
antibodies that are made by the
immune system to help kill the rubella virus. The results of a rubella test are given in titres. Titres measure how much the blood sample can be diluted before the antibodies can no longer be detected. A positive test result means that antibodies against rubella were found in your blood. This may mean you have a current or recent rubella infection, or it may show that you have immunity against rubella. Immunity could have been received through either vaccination for rubella or a past rubella infection. Some babies born with birth defects may be tested for congenital rubella.
