Acute Renal FailureWhat Increases Your RiskYou are more likely to develop
acute renal failure if you have certain conditions or
diseases, especially if you are an older adult. Conditions that increase your
risk include: Acute renal failure usually occurs in people who are already
seriously ill and are in the hospital or intensive care. People who have heart
or abdominal surgery or
bone marrow transplant have a higher risk.
