Mastitis symptoms that require medical attentionCall your health professional immediately if you develop signs
of
mastitis. You may first notice: - Chills, aches, and flu-like
symptoms.
- A temperature of 37.8°C (100°F) or higher.
Later you may notice: - A reddened, painful area of one breast. This area
may be warm to the touch.
- An increased heart rate (more than 100
beats per minute).
- Thick, yellow drainage (pus) coming from the
nipple.
- Swollen and tender
lymph nodes in your armpit on the same side as the
infected breast.
