Food combination diets for weight loss

Food combination diets such as the Zone and Fit for Life plans are based on the idea that certain combinations of food will help a person lose weight. These diets may cause weight loss, but that is because they are low in calories, not because of a combination of foods. They are very hard to follow over time because they are so restrictive.

There is no scientific evidence that particular food combinations are needed to lose weight.
