Other conditions that may have symptoms similar to those of necrotizing enterocolitis include:
- Infection of the bloodstream (sepsis).
- Infections of the intestine or infections within the body that can affect the digestive process.
- Twisting of the intestines (volvulus).
- Intestinal blockage or obstruction.
- Anal fissures.
