Who is affected by gestational diabetes

Gestational diabetes can affect up to 18% of pregnant women, depending on their racial or ethnic group.1 It occurs more commonly in certain ethnic groups such as women of Hispanic, Aboriginal, Asian, South Asian, or African descent.
