Other conditions with symptoms similar to carbon monoxide poisoning

Other conditions may have symptoms similar to carbon monoxide poisoning. These include:

  • Stomach flu.
  • Headache.
  • Food poisoning.
  • Colic (in an infant).
  • Injury to the brain or spinal cord (nervous system).
  • Stroke.
  • Seizure.
  • Psychiatric disorders such as anxiety or panic attacks, which can cause dizziness, shortness of breath, and confusion.
  • Heart problems such as chronic heart failure or arrhythmias, which can cause fatigue, dizziness, and shortness of breath.
  • Syncope.
  • Uneven breathing.
